About Vincent van Gogh

Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890) was a Dutch post-Impressionist painter and one of the most famous and influential figures in Western Art history. Over his lifetime, he created approximately 2,100 artworks, including around 860 oil paintings, most of which were completed during the last two years of his life. Despite his immense talent, Van Gogh was not commercially successful and tragically died by suicide at the age of 37 after years of struggling with mental illness and poverty.
